Top of Zürich

UTO KULM, a 4 star hotel on top of Uetliberg, also called The Top of Zürich  was our goal this Friday. The area is car free, so we went by train from Zürich to Uetliberg, it takes just 20 minutes. After that there is a 6-700 meters walk to the hotel. The road and the top was covered by snow, many others walked the same direction, so we were happy that we’d reserved a table in the restaurant in advance.

Getting closer to the hotel the road was illuminated by fantastic Christmas lights, making the ambience like a complete fairytale Christmas picture and from the top we had the most fantastic view over Zürich. After an easy check-in at the hotel, we went for dinner at Allegro, a very nice experience, even on a busy Friday evening. Views from the modern and fairly spacious rooms are simply stunning. If you want to get a better view, you will have to climb the observation tower next to the hotel 
Our opinion: with a just 20 minutes ride from the center of Zürich, we will definitely stay here again when we need a stay-over in Zürich. And in general, the restaurant, with huge outdoor, panoramic terraces is also worth a visit in the summertime. Many hiking paths runs to/from the hotel as well.
